Two weeks ahead of schedule!

The builders are currently two week’s ahead of schedule! Have you ever heard of a building project being ahead of schedule? We give thanks to God for the good weather that has enabled the crucial stage of digging and filling the foundations to progress easily, for the steady building progress without complications, and for Ralph May’s positive attitude and relationship with everyone from the church.

Current position: The foundations have been completed, and the steel frame for worship space and entrance area is in place - it looks like a massive frame tent at the moment. The frame only covers half of the final building size as the children's classrooms, corridor, meeting rooms and toilet don't require a steel frame.
Next steps:
The concrete floor and drainage services will be laid week beginning 14th October.
Week beginning 28th October the outside brick and block work will start to be built.

. The Need to Pray
Below are some specific things to pray for. But as well as suggesting things to pray for it is important for us to understand how to pray. There are two words from the Bible that I have found helpful, that have been shared by people as ones God is speaking to us from about the Building Project.
In Genesis 1: ‘God spoke the word’ and creation followed – and it was blessed and very good. So we pray for God to speak the word for the creation of our new church building. That the word will go forward quickly and easily and the church as a building and congregation – it will be Blessed – and very, very good. Amen.
Isaiah 55:11: My word shall not return to me empty, but it will accomplish that which I please.

This is about being confident that it is God’s will for us to build this new church building and that he has spoken the word to do it. I am completely confident that it is and therefore our job in prayer is not to pray “if it is your will”, but much more to pray God’s will in heaven into being on earth as Jesus taught us to – “your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. In heaven God has decreed that this building is to be built – we now need to pray that financial resources obey his word and are released to fulfil his purpose. It is about us taking our authority in Christ and praying in faith and confidence that God’s will is that we build this building.

So with that in mind I encourage you to pray:
• That God would guide us to the sources of his financial provision for us
• That financial resources will be released and be obedient to God’s word.
• That God would release the hearts of his people from fear and selfishness into freedom, trust and generosity.
• For God’s protection, guidance and strength for the builders – that all spiritual and natural opposition to this building process would be bound.
